3-Day Small-Group Sarawak Tour From Kuching: Longhouse Experience In Batang Ai
Day 1: Kuching -- Lachau -- Lubok Antu -- Batang Ai (L, D)
You’ll be picked up from your Kuching hotel in the morning and taken on a comfortable 4.5-hour journey through Malaysia’s scenic countryside, passing quaint towns, villages, paddy fields and plantations.
Sop for lunch in Lachau and hop on the ferry in Lubok Antu on your way to the Batang Ai Longhouse Resort, where you’ll have dinner and enjoy an overnight stay. Before dinner, you have the option to take a 1-hour nature walk (own expense) through a nearby jungle and spice garden.

Day 2: Batang Ai (B, L, D)
Start your day with breakfast at your hotel. Around 9am, you and your guide will board a boat on the Engkari River and journey along crystal-clear streams and through an amazing rainforest.
When you arrive at Mengkak Longhouse, you’ll be welcomed by a cultural performance by the Iban tribe, including gongs and a traditional war dance. You will then be taken on a tour of the longhouse, a long and narrow house consisting of several rooms, and meet the Iban families living there.
Enjoy lunch on the riverbank and watch the natives perform a demonstration of their blowpipe, an ancient weapon used for hunting large wild animals. Then, enjoy free time at your leisure to relax or explore more on your own. You’ll be taken back to the resort for dinner.

Day 3: Batang Ai -- Kuching (B, L)
After breakfast, depart for Kuching via the same route as your arrival and stop for lunch at a small roadside town. You’ll arrive back at your Kuching hotel in the evening.
