On this island you can still discover a little paradise and all the rarities it has to offer, including tasty spices and sweet-smelling vanilla. Climb Mount Lokone or Mount Passot to see Nosy Be's jagged coastline, the numerous bays and lovely coves, the deserted beaches and the crystal clear water.

You have the opportunity relax on the white sand beaches or go snorkeling and diving. Take a day trip to the nearby islands, like Nosy Komba where you can come into close contact with the black lemurs that roam this island.

Day 1: Nosy Be - Madagascar

This Budget Madagascar Tour begins on the small island of Nosy Be, where you are taken to your beach hotel. Nosy Be is also called Nosy Manitra, which translates as "The scented Island" and is located off the northwestern coast of Madagascar.

The island boasts white-sand beaches and warm turquoise waters - a tropical paradise! The island is known for its sweet blend of fragrances, with Ylang Ylang, Frangipani, and Vanilla, as well as cocoa, cinnamon and sugar cane growing here.

As one of the top destinations in Madagascar, Nosy Be offers plenty of things to do, from relaxing on idyllic beaches and scuba diving to visiting the Ylang Ylang distillery and climbing Mount Lokone (450m) or Mount Passot (350m) to enjoy the stunning views.

Day 2 - 3: Nosy Be - Madagascar

Spend the next few days soaking up the peace and beauty of laid-back Nosy Be. Choose from an exciting array of optional activities (extra cost) during your stay.

Go island hopping to the smaller islands off Nosy Be, visiting Nosy Komba to spot semi-tame Black Lemurs in the trees. Head to Nosy Tanikely island for outstanding snorkeling and Nosy Sakatia for excellent scuba diving.

Take a guided spice tour and head into Hell-Ville to mingle with the locals and buy affordable spices in the bustling market. Sit back with sundowners at the small rustic bar perched on mount Passot, enjoying breathtaking views over the sacred crater lakes and surrounds.
