Experience Riga after dark on a night kayak tour. Paddle from the Daugava River into the Riga channel, and admire the city’s parks and squares from the water. Enjoy views of the romantic illuminated bridges and fountains as you paddle along.
On this 2.5-hour tour you’ll paddle a kayak in a full circle, across the Daugava River, into the Riga channel, and back to the river. You’ll get a briefing on kayaking from an instructor, and then try out your skills in Agenskalna Bay.
As the tour begins, you’ll cross Agenskalana Bay and then the Daugava River. The views are amazing as you take in the full panorama of Riga and bridges on the other side.
After crossing the Daugava you’ll paddle to Andrejosta, enjoying music from restaurants and bars and the busy nightlife of this part of Riga.
Continue along the Riga channel, going under small romantic bridges and past fountains. If you’re not afraid of getting wet you can actually paddle under a fountain. See Bastejkalns Park and the opera house.
If you’re lucky you may spot some city beavers that live in channel and aren’t afraid of humans!
As the tour comes to an end you’ll paddle by Riga’s central market pavilion, and then cross the Daugava River again. Take a look back to admire the wonderful panorama of the city one last time.
