Venice City Walk

Experience the many charms of Venice.  We will explore the highlights of Venice including the areas of Piazza San Marco, the Rialto Bridge as well as some hidden corners of the city that lie just off the beaten path.  We will get around the city just as the Venetians do:  on foot and by boat. 

We will visit the breathtaking monuments of Piazza San Marco, including the Basilica itself, with its elaborate mosaics, the Campanile (belltower), the Clocktower and the historical cafès and shops.

We will make our way to the Rialto Bridge, the most famous bridge spanning the Grand Canal.  From the top of the bridge you can enjoy one of the most typical views of gondolas and boats making their way along the Grand Canal. 

We will also get to know the Venetians through their simple but inviting cuisine as we stroll through the outdoor produce and fish markets.  Venetian cuisine focuses on fresh fish and seafood from the lagoon and the Adriatic and seasonal vegetables.

We will also take a walk through some of the most fashionable shopping areas, as well as small picturesque campi (small squares), and their artisanal shops.  Venice is famous for its fabrics, hand-made paper, Murano glass and glass jewelry, Carneval masks, and much more.
