Matzanni is situated in the municipality of Vallermosa, in south-western Sardinia. It is a nuragic shrine located in a plateau from which it is possible to admire a wonderful landscape that includes the south western coast of Sardinia and, on the other hand, the Campidano's plain and the gulf of Cagliari.
It is the only nuragic village characterized by the presence of three sacred wells and some huts, between these it can be distinguished the hut in which the tribal chief should have lived. The site has been frequented by Punici who built a Temple of rectangular layout which can be admired a few meters of the nuragic village. It has also been frequented by Romans whose presence is witnessed by the discovery of some archeological finds.
