From Taormina above the Ionian Sea to Agrigento’s Valley of the Temples, from the lonely sentinel of Selinunta’s incredible temple to the stunning mosaics at the Villa Romana del Casale near Piazza Armerina, Sicily is a gorgeous and surprising island. Greek temples, Roman ruins, ancient amphitheaters which play host to annual drama and music festivals abound. From small trattorias to lovely boutique restaurants, some of the finest food in Italy can be enjoyed. Spectacular vistas, from anywhere on the island, are yours to enjoy on this annual exploration of an ancient land. Capri and the Amalfi Coast have lured travelers for many years. From the Bay of Naples to the huge open plain south of Salerno, the coast is one of the most rugged in Europe, offering breathtaking scenery. The town of Amalfi was once home to one of three Italian marine republics. Situated along the rugged and steep coast south of Naples, the town’s fame drew visitors and, eventually, residents who established some of the most incredible sea-side villages and towns on the Italian peninsula. The waters of the Mediterranean wash along cliffs that have welcomed mariners and visitors from the time of Homer to the present day. Accommodations: Our first week is spent in a beautiful villa along the eastern coast of Sicily. From there, clients explore the many incredible cities and historic sites on the island. At the conclusion of the first week, we fly our clients to Naples where they are greeted by a private van/driver. Our accommodations along the Amalfi Coast offer unique and incredible views along the coastline.
