Join us on this small group tour to Slovenia: spend a fantastic day exploring Ljubljana, the fascinating capital of one of Europe's smallest countries, and Lake Bled, known as the pearl of the Alpine region.
TOUR DESCRIPTION
Departure from Trieste at 9.00 a.m. to start a wonderful day out visiting Slovenia’s attractive and cosmopolitan capital. We'll discover the splendours of this fascinating city on foot: we'll cross the Triple Bridge, visit the colorful open market around the main cathedral, see the town hall, stroll amongst the beautiful baroque architecture for a great and informative day out in this elegant pearl of Euope named the “White City”!
We'll then continue our tour to Bled, an idyllic Alpine gem, world known for its beautiful lake with an enchanting island and a mysterious cliff-top castle. Situated 500 m. above sea level, Bled is also known as an important spa resort which attracted the European aristocratic elite since the 19thcentury thanks to its healthy thermal waters.
We'll take a tour around the lake, visit the castle that hosts a permanent exhibition, a 16th century chapel, a stone gazebo and a beautiful viewing terrace and we'll also take a walk along the lakefront promenage. If time allows, an optional boat ride to the island is also possible. Our tour in Bled cannot end without enjoying the town's specialty, a vanilla-custard-and-cream cake called kremšnitaoffered in all characteristic lakefront cafés.
A leisurely drive will then take us back to Trieste in the late afternoon after a great day out!
