Semi-Private Colosseum and Ancient Rome Tour with Skip the Line Access

Get to see parts of Rome that very few visitors could see in the exclusive tour of the Coliseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.

Explore parts of the Coliseum that have only recently been opened to the public. Explore the underground chambers where gladiators prepared for battle and see the cages where lions and tigers were kept. Walk out onto the arena floor and imagine the crowds baying for blood and then climb up to the third-tier the Coliseum, preserve of Emperors and consuls. None of these areas are visited on regular Coliseum tours. We’ll also visit all the general access areas giving you a more rounded view of this ancient structure.

After the Coliseum we’ll head onward to the Roman Forum and the Via Sacra, the sacred way through the Forum, witness to countless colourful festivals and triumphant processions. Starting at the Temple of Julius Caesar, your knowledgeable guide will point out all of the main sights including temples, moneylenders’ shops and the home of the famous Vestal Virgins, bringing these magnificent ruins to life.

The tour will finish at the site where Rome is said to have been founded, the Palatine Hill, where legend has it Remus and Romulus were found by the she-wolf. Here we'll explore some of Rome’s oldest ruins, as we enjoy some of the most beautiful views in the whole city.

Meeting/pick-up point:The tour commences above the 2nd floor of the metro line B (blue line) stop "Colosseo". Your coordinator will be waiting here wearing a blue Dark Rome/Guideman polo shirt or jacket for easy recognition.
Duration: The tour itself lasts around three-and-a-half-hours and includes fast track entrance to the Coliseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill and headsets for groups of five or more. As this tour involves some walking, you should wear comfortable footwear.
