BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE TOUR

The trail takes you on the left bank of the Valsavarenche valley above the villageof Pont(1.960 m ) in the heart of Gran   ParadisoNational Park. Starting from the above mentioned village we reach, after about 2h 30 min walking, the high pastures abandoned in Plan Borgno (2.672 m asl) and then we continue along the north-south toward until reaching the valley of Meyes, from which we returns to the place of departure

8.30 am at the parking area in Pont (1.960 m asl)

A circular itinerary of 8 hours including lunch break of one hour

DESCRIPTION OF TOUR

Starting from the village Pont,  we reach at first the “Croce Roley” (2.313 m asl), site with a splendid panoramic view of the Gran Paradiso’s massif, wich is located at the mouth of the Nivolet’s valley. From here, we climb with steep switchbacks the orographic left slope of the valley until we reach the pastures abandoned in “Plan Borgno” (2.672 m asl), magnificent glacial basin where we will lunch on the shore of a lake. In the afternoon, we follow the local path number 9 and we will reach after an hour walking  the Valley   of Meyes, site of great natural value from which you can see many examples of ibex and chamois devoted to pasture. Then, the route continues downstream and, after reaching the village of Meyes-dessous (2.278 m asl), finally,  we arrive to the place of departure.

PRICE

The fee is 130 € for the day, whatever the number of participants. Because it requires a good workout, the tour is only recommended for adults or children trained over the age of 10 years

MINIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

The tour can also be made by one participant, subject to participation fee, to be paid to the guide for the conduct

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

Maximum 10 people

CLOTHING, EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS RECOMMENDED

 spare shirts, pail or sweater, waterproof jacket, pants, trekking boots, wool hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, backpack trips (just a capacity of 25-30 liters), drinks, lunch

Recommended: trekking poles, water bottle, camera

IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER

In case bad weather we can visit the park visitor center of the Gran Paradiso National Park in Dégioz, dedicated to predators,  and make a brief tour of the valley with a fee of 70 € for an half-day
