Guided tour to the historic town of Andria and the Cathedral of the eleventh century. where are buried in the crypt the 2 wives of Frederick II of Swabia: Jolanda of Brienne and Isabella of England.
The tour will take place along the main monuments of the Swabian with the visit of the XIII century church of St. Augustine. built by the Teutonic Knights with the convent dedicated to their patron St. Leonardo.
Is thought to be one of the oldest in the city and the will of the Duke of Balzo, was dedicated to S. Augustine.
Its prized portals. The main one, which overlooks the square, dated around sec. XIII. The side door bears the emblem of the lilies D'Angiò and laterally those of the city of Andria with the lion rampant and the Bishop Florio, with a heifer carrying a tree. Also present are the eagles of the Teutonic Knights.
Afterwards we will visit the old sweet factory Mucci and its museum with tasting .
The Museum is housed in a beautiful Art Nouveau building with stone walls, original home of the sweet factory. The result of a patient and passionate research, assembles into four documents, tools, equipment, molds for the production of sweets (Confetti), candies and chocolate.
The first room is dedicated to candy, in addition to the sieves, strainers, macerator, molds for making marzipan fruits and almonds in almond paste, are worthy of note are bassine branlantes and copper.
In the second room, a video depicting the history of the factory and the important phases of the working of confetti.
The third room contains machines and equipment including a chocolate tempering machine and a vintage melangeur.
In the fourth room there are machines with rollers in bronze, embossed by hand to the preparation of sweets.
