Typical Roman wines from Civitavecchia, Frascati, Marino and Ariccia in the Castelli Romani, as well as many more from vineyards elsewhere in Italy, are served with a selection of locally produced cured meats and cheeses on this specially created evening tour for those of you who are truly passionate about Roman fare. There are many types of Italian cheese, and you will become familiar with those from Rome and the wider region of Lazio, including Pecorino Romano, Provola di bufala and Ricotta Romana. Cheese, wine, salumi and breads will be available. The tasting per se will combine six wines with six servings of cheeses and cured hams. The proprietor and your guide will advise you all along the way as regards how the food and wine you'll be tasting is produced and prepared, and if you need a top recommendation before you book this tour, celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain awarded the establishment with his golden seal of approval on a recent culinary weekend in Rome. At the end of the tasting you will be served a classic pasta dish (amatriciana or carbonara). Local cheese fondue and oven baked chocolate biscuits will be offered at the end of the evening.
