Discovering Palermo

Palermo is a controversial, paradoxical, caotic city. Yet it is cosy, energetic, seductive.

It is not possible to describe Palermo: it is one of the European cities you cannot miss.

 

In this one-day tour, I want to show you the Palermo downtown through the eyes of the citizens.

Palermo was founded by Phenicians in 900 b.C. and subsequently colonized by different cultures (Arabs, Spanish, Normands): I will take you in discovering the main monuments and places of interest, and I will get you information about the history, the architecture and the Sicilian culture.

I will guide you through the narrow streets and crowded markets of the town, to make you completely merge with the Palermitan atmosphere. I will conduct you in understanding the contrasts and the beauty of the Palermitan culture.

The tour description below is as a rough guide: I will at your disposal in the case you may want to change it. It is possible, indeed, to spend a part of the day to visit the Mondello beach.

The visit of monuments and places of interest in the program is free. Still visitors can decide whether to visit the interior of the Royal Palace (Palazzo Reale) and Massimo Theatre (Teatro Massimo), by buing their own ticket.

For cancellation up to 3 days, a full refund will be given. For cancellation up to 1 days, 50% refund will be given.
