“A hidden Garden of Eden” is perhaps the right expression to describe the beauty of Raja Ampat, a series of virgin coral islands untouched by modernity, rich in the splendors of marine life as a result of it being at the Asia Pacific Coral Triangle.
Diving and snorkeling become the core activities in these islands. Where else can hundreds of schooling fish dance around you, greeting your presence into their tiny world or see the friendly wobbegong shark welcome you as it feeds from the seabed?
Exploring the small islets, marveling at the landscape over at the horizon, entering the serenity of The Passage, a tiny waterway enclosed by two sheer cliff walls are like walking into a fairytale world adorned with the colors of the marine life under the surface of the water. The wind gently sways the tobacco leaves and creating smooth ripples on the pristine water, which reflects the blueness of the sky above. You will fell blessed to have the opportunity to see the hidden paradise.
Welcoming the sunrise on top of the rocky island of Wayag, you will be mesmerized by the beauty of the white chain of coral islets, crowned with green trees emerging from the darkness of the night. The sea turns turquoise blue infested with the dancing salt water fishes clearly visible from afar even from the top of the mountain.
As far as they eye can see, whichever way you look, the stunning beauty will leave you at awe. Swimming with the fishes, basking in the warmth of the sun, accompanied by the white coral rocks, these are what Raja Ampat has to offer. Spend your days mingling with the fishermen of Tanjung Besi, trading stories under a starry night in front of a warm bonfire.
Itinerary
Day 1
Mioskon
Mioskon is a haven for a variety of schooling fish. In Mioskon we can find the wobbegong shark, a carpet shark unique to Papua. The shark is already tame and friendly so there is no need to worry.
Waisai Port
We will pick you up in the afternoon at Waisai port and take you to your cottage where you will spend the night and take you the following day for your adventure.
Kabui Bay
Where we will sail and snorkel between the coral islets
The Passage
The journey continues to The Passage, a waterway sandwiched between two sheer cliffs, creating the impression of sailing through a narrow river. You can taste the tranquility on offer.
Day 2
Wayag
Seeing the sun slowly rising in Wayag is truly an unforgettable experience. Here, the earth offers her finest natural landscapes. As far as the eye can see the scenery is spectacular and reveals a brilliant display of colors which takes your breath away and leaves you speechless.
Snorkeling Activity
After witnessing a spectacular sunrise, you will be taken to snorkel and experience the rich marine life around Wayag. Get to know and preserve the wildlife.
West Waigeo
Exploring the mountainous landscape occupied by primates lurking from the tree line and enjoy a breath of fresh air, will make this trek a truly unique experience not found anywhere else in the world. Endless rows of pine trees will accompany your journey offering an exciting experience.
Pef Island
A small island rich in diverse mix of marine life, the island is known for its stunning and unspoiled beauty. It is here where you can play with tiny seahorses which seem to captivate your heart.
Day 3
White sandy beaches
Clean, white and sparkling best described the beaches but if you set your feet there in person no words could illustrate how you truly feel inside. The scenery alone is a feast to your eyes and can captivate your soul.
Mansuar
A charming island surrounded by coral reefs which are breathtaking and spectacularly beautiful. You will also be spoiled by the pristine, white sandy beach.
Camping Activity
You can discover an entirely different experience with this activity as you soak up the open outdoors after dark. Feel the air, embrace the beauty of the night sky and feel the togetherness with your new found friends.
Day 4
Trekking
The refreshing morning air would be too hard to miss. You will continue your journey, trekking every corners of the mountainous hills there as you bask in the warmth of the sun.
Cendrawasih
Have your cameras ready to capture this gorgeous bird of paradise, known locally as cendrawasih in the morning. Why morning? Because you will have greater chance to capture the unique and colorful bird in the morning than later in the afternoon.
Bat Cave
You will be taken to a special place called the Bat Cave, but we are not talking about Bruce Wayne's secret lair. The bat infested cave is unlike any other of its kind for it sits on an open sea, so it takes a boat to get there.
Hidden Lagoon
After you roam and explore the Bat Cave, you will go to the equally impressive Hidden Lagoon where you can relax and take a dip. But to enter the secluded lagoon you must first snorkel through the cave's stunning stalactite and stalagmite. How's that for an adventure?
Day 5
Arts and Crafts
Only in this travel package can you interact directly with the local community to discover and learn first hand how Raja Ampat's arts and crafts are meticulously produced. The locals here are very friendly and are more than willing to give you guidance into their long preserved tradition and craft.
Kerupiar
You will be taken to a truly unique snorkeling spot. The island was heavily bombarded during World War Two by American troops who mistaken the oddly shaped island as a Japanese war ship. You will also see many coral reefs in the area.
Snorkeling Activity
You wouldn't want to miss many other snorkeling spots which are rich in underwater contours with tons of crevasses and underwater caves which are home to batfish which love to meet humans. Exhausted from all the underwater adventure? Then unwind in the sandy beaches of Ko island and listen to the seagulls chirping. The spot is also a romantic getaway for many.
