Hearing the name Palembang alone is able to excite your imagination with its rich history and many delicacies. Pempek Palembang is the town’s greatest legacy famous throughout all corners of Indonesia with its mouthwatering taste. The simple dish is made from a local type of mackerel called tenggiri wrapped in a specially seasoned flour mix which is then steamed or fried and served with a vinegar sauce. Day 1
Palembang Catfish Soup
Yumm… the fresh, spicy and sour flavor creates a uniquely Palembang taste complimented with the savory meat of the giant catfish, known locally as patin, marinated in thick and rich sauce. Yummy!!
Pempek Palembang
On the first day you will immediately get a taste of pempek Palembang and discover why the humble dish is famous throughout the country. Feel the crispiness of the skin and how the rich taste of the fishcake is complimented by the sourness of the vinegar sauce. It is the type of dish which makes your mouth water and leaves you craving for more.
City Tour
After sampling some Palembang cuisine you will be taken to explore the history of the town. Palembang’s old architecture is amazingly well preserved and has its own unique history and character.
Martabak Har
After a long trip around the city it is time once more to sample another of Palembang’s authentic dish and your bus will stop at Martabak Har, said to serve the best traditional crispy meat pie in the whole of Palembang.

Red Bean Ice Treat
Imagine some red beans served underneath layers of grated ice covered with generous portion of syrup and condensed milk. It is the perfect treat for this hot tropical town which will leave you thristy for more.
Mie Celor
The name is deceptively simple, but Mie Celor is not simply noodle served with egg. Instead, the noodle is soaked in a bowl of warm coconut milk and broth mixed together with bean sprouts and served with slices of boiled egg, chopped celery and friend shallots.
Musi River
The Musi River is an icon and main waterway of Palembang and home to the famous Ampera Bridge. But traveling upstream you can explore the many offshoots of Musi River.
