First visit the Hanuman Temple, one of the oldest temples in the country, built by Maharaja Jai Singh in 1724. The temple honors the Hindu deity Hanuman, an incarna tion of the divine and disciple of the Lord Rama. A unique feature of the temple is the mantra "Sri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram," consistently chanted 24 hours a day since August 1, 1964. This chanting is documented in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Next, travel by tuk-tuk, an electric rickshaw to the Birla Mandir. This temple is devoted to Vishnu, the second deity of the Hindu Trinity, and his partner Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. The temple is decorated with many shrines, fountains and a large garden. During Hindu festivals, thousands of devotees come to this temple to worship Vishnu.
Continue on to the Baha'i House of Worship, a stunningly shaped temple in the image of an unfurling white lotus. The temple is surrounded by pools and lush green grass. The temple's magnificent design has won numerous architectural awards and provides great photo opportunities.
Then travel by private vehicle to Akshardham Temple, the world's largest comprehensive Hindu temple. The grand, ancient-style, intricately hand-carved stone temple was built by 11,000 artisans over five years, opening in 2005. Akshardham displays the essence of India's art and culture in its awe-inspiring structure.
Finally, enjoy a Tahli lunch, a southern Indian meal consisting of multiple sweet and spicy dishes. After lunch, your tour will conclude at Connaught Place. You are then free to explore on your own or allow your guide to assist with arranging a taxi back to your hotel.
