Day 1 –Stone Marvels Theme (Bangalore to Belur & Halebid)

At 7 am we start from Bangalore towards our destination, Belur, the ancient capital of Hoyasala Empire, located 220 KMs from Bangalore. The drive will take 4 hrs. and we will reach Belur by 11am including a breakfast break along the way. After check-in at our accommodation, Lunch will be served.

We depart at 2pm towards the famed Chennakesava temple of Belur which took over a 100 years to build. The next couple of hours will be spent inside this temple complex. We ride next to Halebid, the old capital of the Hoyasala Empire. We spend a couple of hours in the 2 magnificent temples inside the complex dedicated to Hoysalesvara and Shantalesvara. We end the tour of Halebid with a visit to the Archaeological museum, which showcases a variety of Hoyasala style sculptures.

Around 7pm we ride back from Halebid to our hotel. Dinner & stay overnight at the same hotel.

Day 2 –Rainforest stay (Belur to Sakleshpur)

We drive the 45 KM distance between Belur and coffee area of Sakleshpur. Then we go 11 kms deep into the dense forest with not a trace of civilization for miles. Our stay is planned in an eco resort inside the forest. The only lights you will ever see are fireflies flitting by. Activities to choose range from Birding (29 species of migratory & endemic avifauna are here), Herpwatch (watch & identify with a field guide the diverse species of herpetafauna endemic to this part of the western ghats, Lepidoptera (Photo data collection & document butterfly species of this region, spot bluebottles, red parrot, Tamil oak blue, common imperial), Apiary (Assist in Bee keeping & extraction) and Mountain (hard tail) cycling.

Day 3 & 4 –Coffee Estates (Sakleshpur to Chikmagalur)

We say good-bye to the wild and move to coffee country of Chikmagalur. Our stay is in an ancestral plantation home which offers a glimpse into the planter’s life. Over the next 2 days we will do a coffee tour across the plantation, cycling and wildlife safari at Bhadra National Park, a Project Tiger reserve and home to a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Day 5-6 –Coffee & Trekking (Chikmagalur to Coorg)

We leave Chikmagalur and come south towards the other coffee growing district of Coorg. Our stay is perched 4,250 ft. atop a mountain! It is a home stay and a base camp for the tallest mountain, Mt.Tadianadamol (5,730 ft.), in Coorg. This place is surrounded by magnificent rainforests and a lush green coffee estate where black pepper and cardamom are also grown. The highlight of this stay would be the trek to Mt Tadiyandamol.

Day 7 –Culture theme (Coorg to Kushal nagar, Mysore and Bangalore)

After checking out in the morning, we visit the Tibetan settlement at Kushal nagar where 10000 exiled Tibetans are living their traditional lifestyle. You will get to experience Tibet and Tibetan lifestyle through the Golden temple, educational monastic institutions and monasteries like Namdroling and Tashilunpo.

We move to Mysore to visit the world famous Palace. It is the former residence of the royal family of Mysore, who ruled the princely state from 1350 to 1950. Mysore is also home to a large community of traditionally skilled artisans. We will meet the artisans of Mysore who are famous for Inlay art, Stone carving. On this tour you can interact with the artisans who practice this delicate art passed on from generations. The next couple of hours will fly magically as you watch these royal patrons at work and gather insights on the intricate art form.

We return to Bangalore for an end to a magnificent week that flew past us.

 

Cancellation Policy

• In the event of cancellation of tour / travel services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reason/s we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges would be as follows: 60 days prior to arrival: 10% of the Tour / service cost 45 days prior to arrival: 20% of the Tour / service cost 15 days prior to arrival: 25% of the Tour / service cost 07 days prior to arrival: 50% of the Tour / service cost.
• Less than 72 hours or No Show: No Refund In case of Special Trains Journeys and peak season hotel bookings a separate cancellation policy is applicable (which can be advised as and when required).
  Some cancellation and refund policies are out of our tender: Refund for hotel payment will follow the hotel’s cancellation policy Train tickets cancellations will follow the Railway’s policy Flight tickets cancellations will follow the airlines company policy In case you cancel the trip after commencement, refund would be restricted to a limited amount only which too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers/ contractors we patronize. For unused hotel accommodation, chartered transportation & missed meals etc. we do not bear any responsibility to refund.
