Backwaters is one of the major tourism product of Kerala, being unique to the state. Traditionally used as one of the main transportation alleys, today backwaters offer a rejuvenating experience for tourists visiting Kerala. The backwaters can be explored by hiring a boat for one or several days. If you go for more than a day, the boat usually comes with a navigator and a cook, which provide you with various facilities when exploring the backwaters.

Day 1: Cochin

Arrival assistance and transfer from Cochin Airport/Railway Station to the hotel. Sightseen includes Chinese Fishing Nets, St.Francis Church, Jewish Synagogue, and Dutch Palace, Evening sunset cruise in the backwater of Cochin, Shopping dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Cochin - Kumarakom

Check out from Cochin Hotel & proceed to Kumarakom (120 km – 2.30 Hours drive), check in to the hotel on arrival. Spend the afternoon at leisure and overnight stay is arranged in Kumarakom.

Day 3: Kumarakom

Early morning around 6.30AM proceed for bird sanctuary visit. After breakfast proceed for local sightseeing in and around Kumarakom - a tiny backwater hamlet perched on the western banks of the Vembanadu Lake. The stretch of backwater is spread over 1000 sq. km. Choose a canoe, motor boat or houseboat and devour the beauty of this backwater paradise at its best. Overnight stay is arranged in Kumarakom.

Day 4: Kumarakom - Allppey

Alleppey is famous for its lovely lakes, lagoons and the fresh water rivers. It’s known as the 'Venice of the East' for its similarity to the Italian city, Alappuzha's passion play with water has made it the hub of houseboats and beaches. Check into the House boat for Cruise; It is the best way to explore the beauty of backwaters, Rest of the day at leisure on the House Boat. Sit back and relax while the boat cruises through the narrow serene backwater canals. In this world of simple pleasures, you'll skim past ancient Chinese fishing nets; water Lillie’s, lush paddy fields, coir villages, rustic homes, temples and coconut groves. Innumerable lagoons, lakes, canals, estuaries and Kuttanad paddy fields. Lunch, Evening Tea/Coffee with snacks, dinner and enjoy your evening .Only disturbance will be twinkle of a shining star or diving of a fish around you to say hello by waving its tail from the lake. Overnight stay in the House Boat.

Day 5: Alleppey - Cochin

After breakfast disembark from the houseboat and drive to Cochin Airport (2 ½ Hours drive) for onward journey.
