The Golden Circle is the most popular trip for tourists visiting Iceland. During this trip we will visit many great places.
First we will visit Thingvellir National Park, where the oldest Parliament in the world was established around year 930 AD and continued there until around year 1798.
Thingvellir is also very unique from a geological point of view. Then we will go to Gullfoss waterfall; one of Iceland’smost beautiful waterfalls, which flows down 32 meters into the canyon. For more details about Gullfoss please go to www.gullfoss.org.
Next stop will be the Haukadalur geothermal area which is home to Geysir; once the third largest geyser in the world, but has been dormant for many years. Strokkur geyser is close by, and it spouts every few minutes up to 30 meters high. The surrounding area contains various hot springs and bubbling mud pools.
Finally, on the way back we will visit the majestic Faxi waterfall and Skálholt, The current cathedral at Skálholt is relatively large in comparison to most Icelandic churches; its span from door to apse is approximately 30 meters.
