The first stop is Castle Hill, the district locally known as Varnegyed. This is home to the Royal Palace and is famed for its wonderful mixture of medieval, baroque and 19th century architecture. Here you can enjoy breath-taking views over Budapest and the Danube so be sure to bring your camera. Other attractions in the area include the Castle Theatre, the Palace of the Hungarian President, the National Library and the National Gallery. You will also see the 700 year old St Matthias' Church and the Fishermen's Bastion with its unforgettable view over the river to Pest.

The tour continues with an exciting ride down the Castle Hill Funicular Railway to Adam Clark Square. From here we cross over to Pest on the Szecheny chain bridge famed for being continental Europe's oldest suspension bridge. The tour takes you outside to the impressive Houses of Parliament and then climbs to the highest point of the city to see the imposing fortress Citadel on Gellert Hill. You also get the chance to stroll around the city centre where you can visit the central market, one of Budapest’s most beautiful buildings, and the world’s second largest synagogue. Then finally, it’s time to sit back and relax whilst enjoying a complimentary soft drink on the river cruise. Take the weight off your feet and watch the sights gently slip by as you listen to an informative commentary in your own language.
