After pickup from the Roatan cruise port in the afternoon, your guide will provide your small group with a brief safety orientation and familiarize you with the dune buggies. Easy to drive, each off-road buggy has automatic transmission and operates like a small car. Once you feel comfortable, don your goggles and souvenir bandana (yours to keep), and hop on your buggy for an off-road experience you won’t soon forget!
Follow your guide into unspoiled jungle, riding along mountain ridges with breathtaking sights of Roatan. Passing through local villages that few tourists visit, you’ll stop for unique photo opportunities. Listen as your guide, raised on Roatan, shares insider knowledge about the island and its history.
Back aboard your dune buggy, enjoy the fresh air whipping past as you marvel at the turquoise waters of the Caribbean and take in views of the beautiful Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. Don’t be surprised to fishtail your way through the mud puddles for some extra fun – you’ll soon have the opportunity to wash off and relax with complimentary refreshments, local fruits and snacks. Your dune buggy tour ends when your guide transports your small group back to the Roatan cruise port.
If you choose to upgrade your tour to include one of the optional activities, your guide will pick you up in the morning and take you to your destination – ziplining, snorkeling or visiting Little French Key – after you enjoy your dune buggy drive. (See descriptions of each upgrade below.)
