Thessaloniki historically also known as Thessalonica, Salonika or Salonica, is the second-largest city in Greece and the capital of the region of Central Macedonia as well as the capital of the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia and Thrace. Its honorific title is Symprotévousa, literally "co-capital", and stands as a reference to its historical status as the Symvasilévousa, "co-reigning" city of the Byzantine Empire, alongside Constantinople.

Day 1: Thessaloniki

Arrival in Thessaloniki. Our transfer will be waiting for you at the airport to take you to your hotel. Check-in. Overnight.

Day 2: Thessaloniki

Hop on-Hop off tour! Departure in front of the White Tower for the best introduction to the city of Thessaloniki. A panorama drive through the city will introduce you to all the main sites and monuments of exceptional historical importance. You can visit by your own the Archaeological Museum, walk through the tiny streets full of traditional buildings, leading to the Byzantine Walls and Towers and make a stop at the Citadel to enjoy a panoramic view of Thessaloniki. Afterwards, you can visit the early Byzantine basilica of Saint Demetrious, built on the ruins of a Roman bath where the Patron Saint of the city lost his life. Moreover, you will have the chance to see the Ancient Roman Agora (Forum) of Thessaloniki. Additionally, you will see the International Fair of Thessaloniki grounds and the University area, the triumphal Arch of Emperor Galerius, the excellently preserved circular "Rotonda", and there will be time enough also to take a look at the Galerius Mausoleum.

Day 3: Thessaloniki

Optional tour to Vergina! A magnificent tour into the Macedonian kingdom. A visit to Vergina, the museum of Vergina and the ancient royal tombs of Philip, the King of Macedonia and father of Alexander the Great (our personal guide escort us to the tour). Next stop Veria, a picturesque town with a unique landscape and architecture. You will tour the city driving and see St. Paul’s Altar. Leisure time will follow to and enjoy coffee at a traditional café or delicacies for lunch at a local restaurant. Optional: Walk for a while through the lovely streets of the city, full of old Byzantine churches and unique historical monuments. Return to Thessaloniki.

Day 4: Thessaloniki

Transfer to the airport, having the best impression from your trip!
