Following the coast road, drive through Antibes and the old town where Picasso lived, the incredible harbour and its ramparts built by Vauban. Reach Cannes driving by the Croisette boulevard, created in 1868 with the somptuous palaces (Carlton, Marinez, Majestic), to the film festival Palace and feel as a star walking up the world known steps.
On the way back, join the typical medieval village of Saint Paul de Vence made famous by actors and artists living there (Bonnard, Braque, Dufy, Matisse). Its cobbled stone streets, many galleries and nice view overlooking the sea make it a unique place.
At the entrance of village, the «Place du jeu de boules», planted with numerous plane trees, it is the renowned village boules ground. This mythic place has welcomed an infinite number of people who love the game, including many famous personalities such as Yves Montand, Lino Ventura or Henri Salvador, who have enjoyed many a disputed game on the grounds.
On the other side of the square, just beside the old 17th century washhouse, is the famous hotel restaurant, La Colombe d’Or. This veritable institution can boast welcoming the most famous names of our times and times now past: Henri Matisse, Raoul Dufy,Fernand Léger, Yves Montand, Roger Moore or Tony Curtis...
The Ramparts, built in the middle of the 16th century, by order of François 1st have remained almost intact since their construction.
The cemetary is located on plateau du Puy. Though most of the tombstones bear the names of Saint-Paul families, some famous people also rest here such as Marc Chagall, who spent the last 19 years of his life inSaint-Paul. He is buried next to his wife Vava and his brother-in-law Michel.
