Take time to remember as you embark on this exploration of Normandy with its many historical battle areas and commemorative sites from World War II. The tour takes you as far as the Pointe du Hoc, well-known for the assault of the heroic US Rangers. Included in the tour is a visit to the American Cemetery in Colleville where you will be faced with the scene of endless rows of simple white crosses and stars of David marking over 9 thousand graves of fallen soldiers, an image which has been used to symbolise the devastating loss of life during this assault and indeed the whole war.
Discover the Omaha Beach, one of the 5 where the landings actually took place. See the ruins of the Arromanches artificial harbour built by the Allies in less than 15 days. Finally, continue along the coasts of Gold and arrive at Juno Beach where more of the assault occurred. A guide will aid you as you explore the remains of the Atlantic Wall.
