The village is laid out in a small natural amphitheatre, within easy walking distance of the ancient sites that were the villagers' livelihood.

 

pick up early from your hotel by a modern A/C coach to the ferry boat to cross the nile with the local egyptians going to their fields. after that we will take a community taxi to drop us to the colossi of memnon where we will start our tour on foot to visit

3) Temple of Amenhotep III At the time of its construction, it was the largest mortuary temple in the whole area, extending to 350, 000 square meters. Today it has almost totally disappeared, with only the Colossi of Memnon left standing to mark its gateway.

5) Ramesseum (mortuary temple of Pharaoh Ramesses)
6) Tombs of the Nobles They are well worth a visit, however, with more than 400 tombs of significant courtiers and powerful people of the ancient city.

7) Dra' Abu el-Naga' Necropolis It was also used as a cemetery for officials of the New Kingdom administration in Thebes
