Citadel of Saladin was built between 1176 & 1182 ac. It provides a panoramic view of Cairo from AI Moqattam Hill. The Citadel complex includes the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali (Al Gawhara Palace), the Millitary Museum and the outdoor Theatre. The Mosque and school of Sulan Hassan is considered the masterpiece of Mamluke architecture, it includes bronze doors inlaid with gold and silver, marble panelling, and a fountain. The Khan Khalili Bazaar comprises an array of shops dating to the 14th century ac, where the tourist can buy a lot of souvenirs.
