This cruise heads to the Northern Galapagos island of Genovesa and hits the main sites of Isla Santa Cruz. Isla Genovesa is a great location for bird watchers and its rocky volcanic cliffs are inhabited by over 200,000 red footed boobies. Our cruise starts from Isla Santa Cruz where we will visit the Highlands Tortoise Reserve and have a chance to see the giant Galapagos tortoises up close. We will head from Santa Cruz to Isla Genovesa one of the most remote islands in the northern part of island chain. Where we will take a hike to up onto the main plateau of the island to see a colony of Red-Footed Boobies. Continuing across the lava we will see Storm-Petrels and might even catch a glimpse of the Short Eared Owl. In the afternoon we will visit the sandy beaches of Darwin Bay and can hike up to above the bay to see a variety of birds, Palo Santo Trees and cacti. Continuing from Isla Genovesa we will head back to Santa Cruz where we will disembark for Dragon Hill in the morning. We will take a short hike to visit the land iguanas and might catch a glimpse of the forests mockingbirds and finches. In the afternoon we will visit Santa Fe Island whose white sand beaches host a number of sea lions. The last day of the cruise we will visit Bachas Beach one of the primary sea turtle nesting sites in the Galapagos.
