This 2 day adventure package brings you from the most active volcano in Ecuador to the only one emerald sparkling lake in the mountains. Travel along the Avenue of the Volcanoes and admire the Ecuadorian highlands. Head to Cotopaxi National Park where you will have a chance to hike there and admire the flora and fauna. The following day you will visit the wonderful Quilotoa Lagoon where you can also hike to enjoy the outdoors. Then, you will be transferred back to Quito. This is a great chance to see the Andes on a 2-day trip away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Day 1: Indigenous Andean Communities - Landscape - Hike - Mules Ride

On the way to Quilotoa we will stop to visit and indigenous local house from the "Paramos", we will observe their clothes and customs, but the most important thing is that we are going to be with them in a typical indigenous house made of straw. we will sharing with them a short moment talking, watching and learning from them, about their life and how they prepare the soil to sow. We will also visit the town of Tigua, famous for its naive paintings. We will continue up to the Quilotoa volcano, where you will be able to descend to the lake located inside the crater or just walk around the crater. Prepare yourself to enjoy an unforgettable experience by mule back riding. Day 2: Interpretation Center - Hiking - Andes Landscape

Leave early in the morning and take "The Volcanoes Avenue" to Cotopaxi National Park . Cotopaxi is the highest active volcano in the world (5,897 msnm) located two hours from Quito. Along the way we'll see various mountains including, el Corazon, Rumiñhui, Illinizas, Pasochoa, and Atacazo.The national park allows us the opportunity to hike around the lake at the foot of the Volcano. After that, we'll climb the volcano by vehicle until 4,500 meters. Then if the National Park regulations allow us we will climb until 4,800 meters where there is a refuge and from there continue up to the glaciers. Of course all plans depend on weather. Also, we'll visit the Interpretation Center where we'll learn about the flora and the fauna of the park and the moors protected area. Return to Quito
