Take a thrilling excursion into the Dominican countryside on a half-day dune buggy tour! Departing from Puerto Plata, you'll drive past flowing rivers and scenic landscapes, including sugar cane fields and the Atlantic coastline. Under the gaze of Pico Isabel de Torres, Puerto Plata’s highest mountain, you’ll experience the natural beauty of the Dominican Republic. This small-group tour is limited to 20 people, ensuring personalized attention from your guide.
After pickup from your Puerto Plata hotel, your informative guide will offer safety instructions for riding your dune buggy. Then, hop in your one- or two-person dune buggy (depending on which option you select) and prepare for your Dominican expedition through the picturesque countryside!
From Puerto Plata, head into the gorgeous rural surroundings of the coastal city. Follow your guide past sugar cane fields and over five rivers as you drive your low-to-the-ground buggy on a trail. Along the way, spot the replica of Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer statue atop the summit of Pico Isabel de Torres, which hovers almost 2,625 feet (800 meters) above sea level.
Expect the usual off-road terrain on your adventure, including some bumps and dips with water or dirt. When you reach the beach, cool off – and clean off – with a dip into a flowing river or the warm waters of the Caribbean. Drive along the white sand for breathtaking views of the beach and sea, with a break to enjoy complimentary soft drinks, before heading back to Puerto Plata with return transport to your hotel.
