This 3 hour tour of one of the most celebrated villa structures in the world was designed for Grete and Fritz Tugendhat in 1928 and built by the Brno construction company of Artur and Mořic Eisler from 1929-1930.
This building had a profound impact on the history of architecture for several reasons, including the arrangement of the main living area, the steel supporting structure, the rare and exotic materials utilized, and the remarkable use of new technologies. Villa Tugendhat presently ranks among the world’s leading examples of classic modern architecture.
The functionalist villa structure has been reconstructed and you can see it now as it was when it was originally built. Your guide will follow you and give you more information about Brno and its most interesting places.
