Educational Tour of Terezin Concentration Camp

Depart from Prague by car to Terezin where you will learn about the significance of this unique site, where stood a concentration camp with a unique purpose for the Nazi Regime.  Terezin was completely different psychologically and physically from any of the 632 other camps. You will visit the Gestapo prison, the Terezin Museum, the Crematorium, the hidden synagogue (only recently uncovered), and the newly opened exhibition at Magdeburg Barracks. Understand what happened to so many innocent people through actual artifacts, children’s drawings, poetry, and other rare items which survived their owners to speak so eloquently for them.

Additional

For an additional 3000 czk, you may choose to stop at the Town of Ustek for 1 - 2 hours on your way back to Prague. A picturesque little town in northern Bohemia on the edge of the České Středohoří (Czech Highland) and Kokořinsko national parks, Ustek has been used as the setting for many Czech films thanks to its old-fashioned charm and style. Ustek’s Jewish links date back to at least the 16th century, and the town’s unique sandstone synagogue has been recently reconstructed to its former glories. The town has a wide range of architecture worth viewing, from the Baroque church of St. Peter and Paul to the 16th century gable house of Mírové square.
