The sights you’ll see include the Franciscan Monastery, containing a restored sculpture of the Pieta and a gorgeous cloister dating back to the 14th century; the Sponza Palace, which now houses the National Archives; and the Baroque Cathedral of the Assumption, built in the 18th century after an earthquake destroyed the original one.

Then, walk to Dubrovnik’s city walls, which are also a UNESCO World Heritage Site; parts of the wall date from the 13th century. Your guide will lead you along the entire length and tell you interesting facts about the city. As you’re soaking up the medieval atmosphere, you'll see the lovely Minceta Fortress, St John's Fortress, Bokar Fortress and the Maritime Museum.
