Elephant Hill is situated in the confluence of the Li River and Peach River. It is the symbol of Guilin. The full moon of the hill looks like an elephant's trunk drinking water from the Li River.

Fubo Hill is on the west bank of the Li River in the center of the city. Partially submerged in the river, it was named for General Fubo of the Tang Dynasty who built the Mayuan Temple on the hill. Because of its location and height, Fubo Hill can tame the waves and stop the surging waters which then form whirlpools. It is 213 meters above sea level and 62 meters above ground. There are almost 350 steps to climb to reach the top of the hill where you will enjoy a bird's view of Guilin. The steps beside the Sword Testing Stone wind their way up to the Thousand Buddha Cave, in which are more than 200 Buddha statues made in the Tang Dynasty.

The Reed Flute Cave is reputed as «the art palace of Mother Nature» where you can see beautiful stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone flowers with various shapes, all glistening in beautiful colors.
