An early start, catching the sunrise up at the geothermal field. We first spend a good three hours exploring, on foot: steaming, spouting geysers, bubbling hot mud, green, yellow and orange algae - all in an ancient yet active volcanic setting; time also for a relaxing soak in a hot pool. Coming back down slowly from the slopes of the Andes, there is still a variety of flora and fauna to observe, and great scenery to enjoy. Optionally and additionally to Tatio, we can visit three indigenous settlements full of history: Caspana, Lasana and Chiu Chiu. This particular service (subject to demand) includes a courtesy transfer to Calama Airport.
