Imagine a structure made out of ice and snow with ceilings as high as 16 feet, walls covered with original artwork, furniture carved from blocks of ice. Just like its counter part in Sweden, Ice Hotel Quebec has two art galleries, a movietheatre and the famous Ice Bar. Wanderthrough the galleries and exhibitions at the Nordic Arts and Life Festival and gaze upon one-of-a-kind ice paintings. The popular ice slide will make visitors of all ages feel like children again.
Covering a total area of 3000 square meters (30,000 square feet), the Ice Hotel is one of the most unusual and complex construction undertakings. In fact, 10,000 tons of snow and 350 tons of ice will beused during the five weeks it takes to build this feat of architecture.
All guests will spend the night in one of the cosy luxury suites tucked in a warm sleeping bag on a bed of deer pelts. Suites are unique as their decor changes to fit a different theme developed by talented artists.
Doorway to the ice palace, you will be amazed by the sheer size of the GrandHall with its superb ice candelabra. Its majestic ice columns and the delicatebeauty of the shimmering carved walls willundoubtedly leave you breathless.
