Hiking in Rila and Pirin Mountains

This program is designed to cover the most interesting parts of Rila and Pirin Mountais. Rila is the highest mountain on the Balkans, situated about an hour away from the capital of Bulgaria. Its most popular sights are concentrated in the northwestern parts of the mountain — this is our aim for the first three days.

Further we move south to Pirin Mountains, which are the sunniest and also the rockiest in Bulgaria. We'll climb its highest point and see the so called Marble Ridge of Pirin, with an optional visit to «The Foal» — a tiny part of the main ridge, challenge for many generations of tourists. Overnight in a high mountain hut in the middle of the mountain and walk around some of the beatiful blue lakes of Pirin, crossing the whole mountain.

6-8 hours long treks, good physical condition is required to enjoy the trip. Proper hiking equipment - hiking boots, rucksack, wind and waterproof clothes, sun and heat protection. Best time for this trip is between June and September.
