DAY 1
Arrival at Sofia Airport. Transfer to hotel and accommodation. Sightseeing tour of Sofia — St. George Rotunda, the Administration of the President, the National Archaeological Museum, St. Nedelya Church, the National Theatre, the former Royal Palace (now housing the National Revival Art Gallery and the Ethnographic Museum), St. Nikolay Russian Church, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, National Assembly Square, where in the middle of the square sits the impressive Tsar Osvoboditel (King Liberator) monument erected in 1907 by the Italian sculptor Arnoldo Zocchi, St. Sophia Church, the National Gallery for Foreign Art, Alexander Nevski Cathedral — the biggest one in Bulgaria and according to many — the most spectacular building in Sofia. Free time in the centre. Overnight.
DAY 2
Departure for Belgrade at 6:00 am. In the afternoon — walking tour in the centre of Belgrade — Square of the Republic (Trg Republike) with National Theatre and National Museum, Knyaz Mihaylo Street, Orthodox Cathedral, Monument of France, Kalemegdan Fortress, Danube and Sava. Departure for Bosna and Herzegovina. Arrival in Sarajevo around midnight. Accommodation. Overnight.
DAY 3
Breakfast. Walking tour in the centre of Sarajevo — one of the most beautiful cities on the Balkan Peninsula, it is famous for the old neighborhoods, grand mosques, authentic Turkish “charshiya” (market streets) with oriental craftsmen workshops, inns, cafes, where you may taste the fascinating “bosanska kafa” (Bosnian coffee). Highlights of the tour include the old City Hall, Bascharshiya, Husrev Bey Mosque, Latin bridge, Catholic and Orthodox Cathedrals, Ferhadiya Street. Free time in Sarajevo. In the afternoon — departure for Mostar. Its old town, famous for the oriental architecture and the Old Bridge (Stari Most) is a symbol of peaceful coexistence of the different cultural and religious communities of Herzegovina. Walk to the Old Bridge and free time in centre. Departure for Adriatic coast. Arrival in Neum and accommodation late in the evening. Overnight.
DAY 4
Breakfast. 8:00 am — departure for Dubrovnik. Walking tour of the old town with local guide — Porta Pile, Stradun Street, Franciscan Monastery, Dominican Church, Sponza Palace, Rector’s Palace, St. Blez Church, Old Cathedral. Free time. Departure for Montenegro. In the afternoon — walking tour in the old town of Kotor with its well preserved mediaeval fortifications: Arms’ Square, Clock Tower, Providur’s Palace, palaces of the wealthy families Beskucha, Bucha and Pima, St. Tripun Cathedral. Departure for Albania. Arrival in Tirana and accommodation late in the evening.
DAY 5
Breakfast. Panoramic tour of Tirana with local guide — Skenderbeg Square with the monument of Albania’s national hero, Ethem Bey Mosque, Clock Tower, Palace of Culture. Free time in the centre or visit to National Historical Museum. Departure for Kruja — birthplace of Skenderbeg. Walking tour of the town. Departure for Macedonia. Arrival at Ohrid Riviera late in the evening. Accommodation. Overnight.
DAY 6
Breakfast. Walking tour of Ohrid with local guide — Old town, Church of Virgin Mary Perivlepta, Tsar Samuil’s Fortress, Church of Saint Panteleymon, Church of Saint John Kaneo, Church of Saint Sophia, Ancient Theatre, Old Charshiya (trade street). 12:00 am — departure for Bulgaria. Arrival in Sofia late in the evening. Accommodation. Overnight.
