You’ll be picked up from your Brussels hotel or a central meeting point. Starting from central Brussels, your guide will lead you on a walking tour through the city to immerse you in the life and times of Tintin.
The The Adventures of Tintin comic series was created by Belgian comics writer and cartoonist Georges Remi (whose pen name was Hergé), a native of Brussels who drew inspiration from his everyday life in Brussels. Oftentimes, the characters are seen against the backdrop of the capital’s typical cityscapes, which you’ll see in real life on you tour.
Follow in the footsteps of the comic’s hero, Tintin, a young Belgian reporter, alongside his trusty companion, Snowy. Hear about Captain Haddock at the Port of Brussels, and commemorate the legendary meeting between Tchang and Hergé. Listen to the voice of The Castafiore Emerald — the 21st volume of the series — in front of the Royal Monnaie Theatre, and spice up your visit with the fabulous ideas of Professor Calculus and the collaboration of those two famous detectives, Thompson and Thompson.
After the walking portion of your tour, board a coach and head just outside the city to the Hergé Museum. Enrich your knowledge of Belgium’s national ‘hero' as you walk through the exhibits spread across eight rooms. Starting on the first floor, learn about Hergé’s life and career as a cartoonist in Brussels and then continue upstairs to see displays of comic art from The Adventures of Tintin.
You'll also see artwork depicting some of Hergé’s other comic characters, like Quick and Flupke. Be sure to note the remarkable museum building itself, designed by architect Christian de Portzamparc to resemble a ship emerging from a sea of trees and crashing into town.
Your guide will then take you back to central Brussels to conclude your Tintin tour.
