Today, meet at Steamer Wharf in Queenstown to begin your rural New Zealand experience. You'll travel to Walter Peak in a unique way -- aboard a vintage steamship, where you can watch the original TSS Earnslaw steam engines at work from an open viewing area.
During the cruise, you'll be entertained by a pianist playing a variety of old favorites, so join in and sing along! You can also visit the Focsle Museum to learn about the history of the TSS Earnslaw.
Upon arrival at Walter Peak High Country Farm, head to the Colonel's Homestead for tea or coffee and scrumptious homemade baked goods. You'll have time to take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful lakeside gardens, before joining your guide on a walking tour of the farm. You'll learn about traditional farming practices and the importance of the different farm animals. Watch sheep dogs in action, see farmers shearing sheep, and wool spinners at work.
After getting an authentic glimpse at rural farm life, you'll return to Steamer Wharf in Queenstown.
