Read the story of Valencia in a different and fun way. The essences of Roman and Muslim Valencia will open up passing through the Museum and Almudín Almoina to continue discovering the beauty of the city at the Palau de Benicarlo, Borgia residence in town and now houses the Corts Valencianes.
Serranos Towers are part of the ancient medieval walls of the city and today are the central point of the start of the Fallas festival, where we will go before reaching the Plaza de Manises which chairs the Palau of the Government. In the square we can see the Basilica Virgen de la Mare de Deu, the fountain that pays tribute to Turia and its waters, which have had their own court, which has been a world heritage site since 2009; and with an ancient history behind it, at the door of the Apostles of the Cathedral. This door will lead the tour towards the cathedral doors of Valencia and it´s different styles: Gothic, Baroque and Romanesque, in addition to its iconic bell tower: Miguelete.
Visit Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias and discover the gardens of Turia. This pleasant walk as you discover the city of Valencia has opened the new century showing all its glory. After the flood of 1957 the old Turia riverbed of the Turia Gardens are the longest urban garden, being bigger than 10 km. These immense gardens are divided into sections according to their use are not just a lung for the city and a 'highway' for cyclists and urban runners but is home to some of the most representative buildings of the city.
There is water throughout the whole of the gardens, clearly alluding to the river, and is in sections X and XI, where the Palau de Música, which has reached its peak with the abundant vegetation, pergolas and ponds. The Palau, in turn serves as a tribute to the wide musical tradition throughout the Valencian Community, as well as its traditional culture with a huge glass that lets us see inside full of typical Valencian orange. After the bridge the 'Gargoyles' you can see the City of Arts and Sciences (CAC), the modernist architectural complex, designed by the famous architect Santiago Calatrava. This monumental complex consists of five buildings: Hemisféric, Science Museum of Prince Felipe, the Humbracle, the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia (image below) and the newly opened Agora, and the Oceanographic and stunning bridge Assud d'Or.
