Bioparc Valencia

Take a walk on the wild side of Valencia with a visit to Bioparc, a zoo with a difference. Africa comes to life at Bioparc, where you are encouraged to immerse yourself in the life and activities of the zoo. Delve deep into the excellently recreated natural habitats and discover the complexity of the ecosystems in which the animals live such as savannahs, rainforests, marshlands... Uncover how aardvarks live underground as the wander through burrows surrounded by termites. See hyenas and wild boars just like if they were in Africa.

Venture into the dense equatorial forest in search of gorillas, buffalo and leopards. Watch in awe as hippos immerse themselves in the water and as the Nile crocodiles surreptitiously slink themselves into the water among thousands of fish. There is an amphibian habitat where frogs and toads hang out, and there’s a section where great apes such are able to prowl in peace.

Follow the giant footsteps of the elephants into a replica of cave excavated by ancient pachyderms. The Kitum Cave is a recreation of a millenarian volcanic grotto in Kenya. As the sun sets, herds of elephants enter inside in search of mineral salts. Buffalo are also known to enter the cave, which is home to thousands of bats.
