Itinerary
Day 1
Frankenmuth, Mackinaw City, Mackinac Bridge
After a short visit in Frankenmuth, arrival in Mackinaw City at the intersection of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron in the afternoon. Explore “Mighty Mac,” the over 26,000 ft. long Mackinac Bridge (Golden Gate Bridge is a mere 8,971 ft. in length, just saying) as well as the town. You can also visit Fort Michillimackinac State Park, a former French trading post built in 1715⁺.
Day 2
Mackinac Island
A ferry brings you to Mackinac Island early in the morning — and back to Victorian times. Explore some of the many quaint little shops, visit Fort Mackinac or the imposing Grand Hotel, take a buggy-ride, or ride a bike once around the island, and sample every variety of fudge imaginable⁺. Our ferry returns to the mainland in the early afternoon.
Return:
East Lansing: ca. 6:30 p.m.
Ann Arbor: ca. 8 p.m.
Ypsilanti: ca. 8:30 p.m.
