Grand Canyon West Rim Above, Beyond and Below

See the Grand Canyon West Rim high and low with this breathtaking tour that explores the great natural wonder from above, beyond and below. In a day of many highlights, one of the most dramatic moments will be when you land at the bottom of the canyon just above the mighty Colorado River. Back on the rim, feast on a barbecue and, if you wish, avail of the option of a Skywalk over the canyon.

Enjoy views of the extraordinary landscapes of the Mojave Desert as you travel to the West Rim aboard a Tour Trekker vehicle. At the rim, board a state-of-the-art helicopter for a scenic flight to the bottom. Descend and land 1,000 metres (3,500 feet) below the rim from where you will able to appreciate just how deep the gorge is as you find yourself dwarfed by its sheer scale. Look up in awe at the layers of limestone, each a different shade of ochre. This portion lasts approximately 40 minutes, which includes 15 minutes round-trip helicopter flight and 20 minutes at the bottom of the canyon.

Back at the top of the West Rim, visit Guano Point for even more stunning views and a delicious barbecue. An optional extra is the Skywalk, a horseshoe-shaped, glass-bottomed viewing platform from which you can look down hundreds of metres below to the bottom of the canyon. It extends out more than 20 metres (70ft) from land, giving you the sensation of floating on air.
