Bainbridge Island and the adjacent Kitsap Peninsula are two of the Seattle area’s most enjoyable day trip destinations. Explore them on this six-hour tour that starts at the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal.
Make your own way to Bainbridge on an easy and inexpensive ferry ride from Seattle (it is recommended you catch the 9:35am ferry from Seattle to make the 10:10am tour start time). After the 30-minute ferry ride across Puget Sound (an experience itself!), meet your local guide at the Bainbridge Island ferry terminal.
Enjoy scenic vistas in every direction from the moment you depart Seattle until the moment you return. From the Bainbridge Island ferry terminal, travel by luxury minibus to the Kitsap Peninsula via the Agate Pass Bridge. Your first stop on the Kitsap Peninsula is the sleepy town of Suquamish – once home to Chief Seattle and now home to the Suquamish Tribe. Visit Chief Seattle’s grave and the Suquamish Museum to learn about the history of the tribe.
From Suquamish, hug Liberty Bay all the way to your next stop, Poulsbo, a quaint village founded by Norwegian fishers and farmers. The extended stop here is a great time to do some shopping, grab lunch (own expense) or explore.
Your final stop is the New England-inspired village of Port Gamble on the northern part of the peninsula. Here you can visit the Shell Museum or the Port Gamble Historic Museum, or enjoy some free time.
The return ferry to Seattle is free; spend the rest of your day as you wish! Take the ferry straight back to spend your evening in Seattle; visit the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort; or even spend the night at a bed and breakfast on the island – the choice is yours.
