This epic loop covers almost 600 miles by Jet Ski starting from Juneau, Alaska and heading south to Wrangell before heading back northwest to the small village of Kake and returning to Juneau. As you traverse the shores of the coastal rainforests you will have daily opportunities to spot grizzly bears, bald eagles, sea otters, whales, orcas and seals. Enjoy comfortable accommodations at a number of small and isolated port towns and native villages including Petersburg, Wrangell and the native village of Kake. The jet ski offers the perfect way to see the wild Alaskan coastline and visit these remote villages. On the typical day you will spend 4 to 8 hours on the jet ski depending on water conditions and weather. If the weather is calm the protected waters of the inside offer world class skiing conditions. In partnership with Dangerous Water Adventures we are pleased to offer forty departures during the 2024/25 seasons.

Alaska Loop Route Profile

Day 1: Juneau to Petersburg

Distance: 137 Miles
The expedition will meet in the lobby of the Ramada Hotel in Juneau, Alaska for orientation and gear distribution. Today the team will be heading south down Gastineau Channel headed for the marine rich waters of Frederick Sound.. We will be on the lookout for Humpback Whales, Orca, Stellar Sealions, and Brown Bear foraging along the shoreline. (Hotel Included/ Dinner on Your Own)

Day 2: Day Trip to Le Conte Tidewater Glacier

Distance: 70 Miles
Wake up to the beautiful morning air of Petersburg, Alaska. Enjoy breakfast on your own and then meet on the docks for a day you will never forget! Today the team will make its way to the majesty of Le Conte Tidewater Glacier. This actively calving glacier is tucked back in a narrow fjord rimmed by snow and glacier covered peaks. Upon returning to Petersburg the crew will meet at the local bar for glacial ice cocktails. (Hotel Included/ Dinner on Your Own)

Day 3: Petersburg to Wrangell

Distance: 70 Miles
After a good night?s rest, the crew will meet on the dock for the morning briefing and safety overview. Today, depending on weather challenges, the team will head down a narrow body of water known as the Wrangell Narrows. The passage is the only direct water connection between Frederick Sound and Sumner Strait that Orca use on a regular basis for transit. Your guide will decide if conditions dictate passage to Whale Pass or Wrangell which are both amazing bodies of water to travel through. (Hotel Included/ Dinner on Your Own)

Day 4: Wrangell to Kake

Distance: 115 Miles
Today you have the special treat of travelling through the waters of Rocky Pass in route to the native village of Kake, Alaska. Kake is as Alaskan as it gets with no restaurants but the best home cooked food in the state at Patty's Kitchen! The team will stay overnight at either the Keex Kwan Lodge or Patty's house depending on group size. Either place is fantastic and be sure to keep a keen eye out for black bear roaming the village! (Hotel/Dinner Included)

Day 5: Kake to Juneau

Distance: 110 Miles
After an amazing breakfast the expedition will depart Kake for the waters of Frederick Sound and be on the lookout for feeding Humpback Whales and Orca preying upon Stellar Sealions. The north south angle of Stephens Passage is prone to afternoon winds so expect your guide to want an early morning departure.
