Spamalot

Like all things Monty Python, Spamalot is even better than the real thing (which was pretty damn good, too!). This rip-roaring, action-packed and fun-filled musical based on the Holy Grail film is a smash a zillion times over and is back in the West End for more swashbuckling humour.

Inspired by the immortal line from the movie, ‘here in Camelot, we eat ham and jam and Spam a lot’, the musical has been ‘lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail’ – and that’s what it says on the tin! Spamalot retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a number of gratuitously scantily clad showgirls, not to mention flying cows, the killer rabbit of Caerbannog (the ‘harmless bunny’ who proved to be ‘dynamite’) and French people. In good old Python style, anyone is fair game for a metaphorical bashing.

Watch Sir Lancelot the Homicidally Brave, Sir Bedevere, the Strangely Flatulent, the Lady of the Lake, Not Dead Fred Robin's Lead Minstrel et al perform the hilarious Fisch Schlapping Dance and sing England’s favourite comic song, Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, and much at the Playhouse Theatre. Laugh, laugh and laugh away because Monty Python’s Spamalot has been certified as funnier than the Black Death!
