Take a trip down memory lane with this nostalgic odyssey through the streets of London, taking in many of the city’s top old world attractions from a vintage open-top bus. Then hop aboard a boat for a scenic cruise on the River Thames before some solemn ceremony at the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. Finish off your tour at the world-famous Harrods department store.
Meander through the monumental streets of Westminster aboard a classic Routemaster double-decker bus (the ones with an open rear platform and the string bells) and enjoy close-up views of landmarks such as Westminster Abbey, St Margaret’s Church, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square and many more sights and attractions.
Then it’s from dry land to the water for a scenic cruise on the River Thames where you will be able to enjoy a different perspective of the city as well as sights unique to the waterfront such as Cleopatra’s Needle and Shakespeare’s Globe.
Continue to Buckingham Palace for the pomp and circumstance of the changing of the guard, one of the most impressive military ceremonies you’ll ever see. Be sure to catch a photo of the guards in their scarlet tunics and bearskin hats. For the afternoon, watch the inspection of the Queens household cavalry. End your experience at Harrods, the most famous department store in the world.
Meeting/pick-up point: Morning tour departs from Victoria Coach Station while afternoon tour departs from the Harrods, 87–135 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge.
Start/opening time: Morning tour at 8am and afternoon tour at 1pm.
End/closing time: 11am or4.30pm.
