Odessa - a city of different religions

Odessa has always been a city of different religions and nationalities, but, in spite of this, different beliefs, religious sects and people of different mentalities have perfectly got on living in the neighbourhood. It has always made Odessa especially charming and colourful. This cosy city is the home for about 100 different confessions, being a striking example of peaceful coexistence of representatives of different nationalities on a small territory. Along with orthodox churches, in Odessa there are synagogues, catholic, Greek and Armenian churches, Arabic cultural centre and recently restored and newly opened Lutheran church, meeting-houses of different religious communities.
