The tour starts at 9.30 from our office after a cup of morning coffee or tea and finishes at about 6 pm in summer and 5 pm in winter. We pick you up from your hotel in Göreme at 9:15- 9:20 or 9:00 from Ürgüp or Uçhisar. First you stop at Göreme panorama where the guide gives you information about the area and you can take pictures of the Pigeon valley. Next you visit Derinkuyu underground city (approximately 85 m deep) which is the biggest of its kind. It was used to hide Christians during enemy attacks in the 5th to 10th centuries and has 16 floors, 8 of which can be visited today. The settlement was built around the 4th century BC. Then you go to Ihlara Valley where you take a 3.5-km walk in the Melendiz river canyon. You also visit the Ağaçaltı (Under the tree) church. The walk ends in Belisırma village where you have lunch.After lunch you can see the village of Yaprakhisar, which is famous for its lunar landscape resembling that of the Star Wars. In Selime you visit a monastery built into caves which is the biggest one in the area. Last you can see the Pigeon valley with its famous pigeon holes cut into the rock.
