Full Day A Glimpse Into Myanmar And The Golden Triangle From Hotel In Chiang Rai City Only (TCEI01)

Spend a day in Myanmar on this full day tour. We start with a drive to Mae Sai, the bustling border town. Cross the border into Myanmar and by tuk tuk (also known as three wheeler) explore the border town of Tachilek. You will visit the Temple of the Enrobened Elephant and the Mahamyatmuni Temple, a fine example of typical Burmese architecture. Continue to Tachilek’s own Shwedagon Pagoda, a smaller copy of the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. After visting these architecture wonders, enjoy an authentic Burmese lunch in a local restaurant.

After lunch there will be time to visit the interesting border market, a favorite destination for Thai day-trippers.

We then return to Thailand and continue to the Golden Triangle, the place where the borders of Laos, Thailand and Myanmar meet. Here we visit the Hall of Opium, where the history of the use of Opium, poppy cultivation and the opium trade in the Golden Triangle is told. With this visit we finish our tour and return to Chiang Rai.
