Ronda full day

Ronda is an ancient town in a breath-taking mountain setting, teetering on the edge of its famous gorge. In this full day guided tour you’ll see all the main attractions and have plenty of time to explore the cobbled streets and picturesque whitewashed houses of the old town for yourself. Have a look at the oldest bullring in Spain and go for stroll along the top of the famous gorge, spanned by two spectacular, gravity defying bridges.

After an early start we’ll head out from the coast, venturing deep into the Andalusian countryside, passing dazzling white villages and rolling green hills studded with olive trees and vineyards before climbing high into the rugged Serrania de Ronda Mountains.

When we arrive in Ronda we’ll go on a fascinating sightseeing tour of this historic town, taking in all the main sights and landmarks. Some of the attractions we’ll visit include the magnificent Church of the Holy Spirit, the central Plaza del Ayuntamiento and the Cathedral of Santa Maria la Mayor. No visit here would be complete without looking down into the deep gorge that splits the city in two, spanned by two gravity-defying bridges, the Puente Viejo and the Puente Nuevo.

We’ll also pay a visit to the famous Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza, well-known in Spain for being the oldest bullring in the country. The arena is also famous for its associations with Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles, whose ashes were scattered here. We’ll also have a look around the bullring’s small museum containing an interesting collection of bullfighting memorabilia and portraits of famous matadors.

We’ll then visit the Sangre de Ronda Bodegas where you can sample some of the region’s excellent wines. Then after lunch you'll have plenty of free time to explore the town at your own pace, you shouldn’t leave without trying some of the town’s excellent tapas.
